Some new scores

Posted by Elvis on October 7, 2008

Have made any major progress since last time, but I have gotten up to 21 on disc gold stars. Tha officially makes 25% of the setlist. I decided not to keep track of my drum scores. I need to get allot better so i will just keep playing everyday and wait till next year before i worry about scores. I should be good enough by then (I hope)

I got the RHCP album and it is a blast to sing. I plan on Gold staring the entire album over the next few weeks so look for that soon.

fun with performance mode!

Posted by Elvis on September 27, 2008

I was working on 100%ing Rob the Prez-O-Dent when I realized, while I kept missing random phrases I really knew the song pretty well. I decided to try the song in performance mode, which is playing with no visual track. The background band is there but you can’t see any words, pitch indicators or where your life bar is. I only made it to 67% on Expert but passed with 5 stars and 91% on hard. That at least means I was pretty close on my pitch so i will work on expert some more. I enjoyed the challenge of it so I plan on trying even more songs on hard.

4 more gold stars

Posted by Elvis on September 20, 2008

Played soem more vocals last night and got 4 more gold stars bringing me to 20 combined between DLC, RB1 import and RB2 on disc. I think I am doing pretty well on World Tour as well. I am really glad they made it one player this time around.

Making some vocal progress and new drums!

Posted by Elvis on September 19, 2008

Well i have been making some vocal progress. i am up to 9 on disc gold stars and I think my career score is around 8 million. Still far from the top but i have not worked on very many songs seriously for score. I have been having allot of fun working through World Tour and beating the tour challenges.

On another huge note, I got my Ion drums the other day and they are AWESOME!. I have having a bit of hard time with the learning curve of using the cymbals but it is allot more fun playing with them.

Rock Band 2!

Posted by Elvis on September 14, 2008

Well I was able to get Rock Band 2 a couple of days early and have already put several hours into it. i love this game. The different modes they added really add allot of extra gmae play. I love being able to play world tour by myslef since that is primarily how I play. The tour challenges are a great addidtion and with new ones adding when you get DLC this seems like an awesome way to keep content fresh. I also love the battle of the bands mode. I think it is a great idea and will add some interesting gameplay and the idea of always having new battles is a great idea. I was able to participate in a few pre-release battles but didn’t fare too well. I did do pretty well in the All That Remains challenge though. It is not over yet but I do have first place.

I have been playing some drums but am really holding out till next week when I get my ION set before I get serious about scores and try out the drum trainer. I have been spending most of my playing on vocals. I ma not doing too badly so far with 7 gold star’d songs on disc and 1 each from DLC and Rock Band 1. I am also happy to say they were not all talky only songs. By the Way Rob The Prez-O-Dent is the most fun vocal track so far and is a freaking blast to sing!

Posted by Elvis on August 31, 2008

I had a week long business trip so I didn’t get to play. I got back and started to work on my scores. I increased a few by a decent ammount but decided to not worry about scores anymore for now. It is 2 weeks untill Rockband 2 so i will work on getting better everyday but am not going to worry about 5 stars or higher scores till then. i thought i would share my singer today though.

1st place on Clouds over California vocals

Posted by Elvis on August 22, 2008

so I worked a bit on the broken talkie in Clouds over California and was able to get around 1,000 points (out of the 8,000) still shitty but better than most. This score puts me in first place on Score Hero but only 7th on XBL. There are 5 people above me that look like they either got a glitch or actually got the entire phrase. Perhaps I will try again later.

5 Star The Cars Album (hard drums)

Posted by Elvis on August 21, 2008

So I 5 stared the entire album by The Cars today on hard drums. to be honest it isn’t much of an accomplishment since they were all sight reads(first time playing through). A couple were of them were close but none were a real challenge. I am a fan of the group and the album so they are very fun to play though. I couldn’t help thinking of Fast Times at Ridgemont High while playing Moving in Stereo though! i finally got my new RMA’d drum set and it has made a big difference as well.

I actually did some other stuff too but I will leave that for another time.

Keep on Rocking,

Mr. Mediocre

Some increases in Drum scores

Posted by Elvis on August 16, 2008

I worked on a few drum scores and made some nice improvements. It must have been a long time since I played these songs because the increases were pretty big and the songs seemed much easier than I remember them being. All in all it was about 300,000 increase on my total hard score(only about 50k increase in my career score though). Click the pics to enlarge them.

4 Star’d a couple of roadrunner songs

Posted by Elvis on August 14, 2008

Well my new drum set didn’t come today so I decided to to try my old broken drum set (yes I have broken drum sets) and was pleased to realize that it wasn’t near as broken as my newer one. The yellow pad is broken as well but the pads don’t drop hits near as much. i am not sure if it was the set working better or I am getting some muscle memory on Constant Motion because my score increased by about 18,000 and I got 4 stars and 91%.

Constant Motion hard Drums 4 stars 91%

I decided to give Clouds over California another go with this set and i did much better. I didn’t get 90% (89%) but did get 4 stars and raised my sscore by about 21,000.

After seeing the better scores, I decided to move up to expert and see what I could do.  I played a bit with nothing special and then gave Indestructible a run. I did improve my score but only by 4,000 or so. i am very happy with note streak and % increase though. BTW that streak was not in the chorus.

Indestructible 88%

Indestructible 88%

I finished up with Life is Beautiful by SIXX A.M. this song was awesome on hard drums so i decided to see if I could pass it on expert and i did pretty well. 86% on my first run isn’t bad considering it had some parts that tripped me up and confused me at first.
